Guidelines for Grants / Donations Applications

The Parish Council [MPC] has adopted a policy that organisations within the Parish should adopt when wishing to apply for Grants to support specific projects. These guidelines apply to everyone including those that have benefited previously and who wish a repeat of those Grants / Donations for the upcoming financial year.

The Guidelines are as follows:

1. Any Third Party within the Parish can make an application for a Grant / Donation. Such application must be with the Parish Clerk by 31st October [at the very latest] in order that it can be considered for the following year’s budget.

2. The application should state clearly what the Grant / Donation is for, include a costed proposal and at least one quote with any timescale and any timescale constraints. [The MPC need to know timescale to ensure the MPC cash flow is in line with the two tranches of precept]

3. The application should advise the MPC if any other Grants / Donations have been requested or committed for the same project from any other third party.

4. Following confirmation of the Precept level for the upcoming financial year, the MPC will advise the Third Party if they are successful or not, when the funds will be made available, and, if relevant, of any conditions that must be met by the Third Party.

5. The MPC, at its discretion, may require the Third Party to match pound for pound any Grant / Donation given.

6. If the Third Party is a society or organisation and the Grant / Donation is in excess of £1,000, the MPC reserves the right,if appropriate, to view the latest accounts.

These Guidelines will be repeated in the September edition of the Marnhull Messenger, put on the website www.marnhullmessenger.org.uk under Parish Council and shown in the Annual Directory.
