The Magazine
The Marnhull Messenger is a free circulation magazine that
is distributed to every household in the Parish of Marnhull 10 months of the
year (ie not January and August). It contains 40 to 44 pages in A5 size with
notices and reports from the various organisations in the village - the Churches,
Parish Council, Schools, Societies and Clubs. It is split 50/50 between text
and advertising, which is confined mainly to Village organisations and
businesses. An Annual Directory is also produced and distributed throughout
the Village. It features the contact details of all the relevant Amenities,
Services, Clubs, Government Bodies, Schools and Education providers, Interest
Groups, Transport and so on.
The original Messenger was a one side A4 newsheet for the Anglican Church produced in 1965 or thereabouts. It progressed to include the other two Churches and finally, in 1995, it became the full version of the village magazine that it is now. It is funded entirely by its advertising and contributions received from Village organisations. The "Parish Magazine" is seen as a valuable means of communication within the Community, which is very encouraging for the team who are responsible for bringing the Marnhull Messenger to its readers. The addition of this website is further evidence of our commitment to helping draw the Community even closer together.
Advertising rates
Rates are for 10 issues plus inclusion in the Marnhull
Directory. A set-up fee of between £5.00 and £15.00 is also charged. The Website
The website was launched to coincide with the December 2005 issue of the
Messenger magazine. The magazine itself is not put on the site but
headlines and forthcoming events are. The website incorporates the Marnhull Annual
Directory, so all the organisations
listed in it can be found on this website.
In addition, any village organisation can have its own page. This can allow a headline about an event to be included on the Home Page which can link to a fuller account on the organisation's own page. How to have your own page
Just send your information to the webmaster. This
is the type of thing we need, plus some photographs, if possible:
Your entry will be considerably livened up if you can send in some photographs. Even just one! Captions to go with them, would be helpful. If you have a logo send it. If you take photographs at an event we can include a slide show for you in the Gallery. However, please consult Photographs in our Privacy Policy first to check that they meet our requirements. The website does not carry advertising, at least at the moment, but we offer a link on the Links page for anybody trading in Marnhull who advertises in the Marnhull Messenger magazine, either for their website or just their email address. These links will be charged at the nominal fee of £5.00 for 2007. The rate will be reviewed after that. Copyright
